I Met Abigail / On June 7th, 2011, I received a message on Facebook that she was booked to perform at Gay Pride Pittsburgh on Saturday June 11th. I was very nervous. I don't drive and unsure how my mother would react if I asked her to take to Pittsburgh for Gay Pride. I begged and begged. I told her how important it was for me to go and meet Abigail. Abigail invited me to be her guest back stage. She finally agreed to take me. She knew that this meant the world to me. When I got to my hotel, I waited nervously. Abigail stayed at a different hotel. It finally came and I was dropped off at Abigail's hotel. I stayed in the lobby waiting for Abigail to call me to let me know she was coming down from her room. I was so scared that she would forget to call because she was so busy. Soon after I got there, she called and said she'd be down in a minute. When she came down, she was so beautiful. We talked for a few moments and left to go to the stage. I stayed backstage. I was almost kicked out twice, being told I wasn't allowed behind the fence. Then, a volunteer told them I was a guest of Abigail's and I was allowed backstage. It was awesome! After the performance, we went back to her hotel for a drink. We talked about everything, from my family to my health to her career, her family, everything. I was afraid I'd be all star-stuck and be geeky but we sat down as friends and a long overdue meeting. I can't thank Abigail for an evening I'll never forget. Thank you so much! She performed the following songs: At the beginning of Let the Joy Rise, she introduced me and thanked me. Saying I was her biggest fan and that she was excited to meet me. I also met, Ryan W. Unfortunately, I was there in time to hear him perform. I checked him out on iTunes when I got home. He's very talented, I like his music and for our brief meeting, he was very nice. I bought all of his songs off iTunes. You can visit his website here. Here are the pix from that evening:
